Having completed an early qualification in Travel and Tourism in Upper Hutt, she’s been drawn to customer service roles all her life, mostly in the travel industry, including nationwide account management and Account Executive at Amadeus, one of the world’s largest airline I.T. software companies. Her husband, Christian, is also involved in the travel industry, which has meant that they and their two children have lived in a few different spots around the country and are well acquainted with the emotional rollercoaster of moving house.
A family of readers, Averil says they often all have their noses in a book, with Christian currently reading the Lord of the Rings Trilogy to their children. They love to get out on their bikes when the weather suits, and like any sensible person, she admits she revels in the chance to get some time on her own in this busy world, spreading her wings as far as Thailand and India a couple of years ago, on the “trip of a lifetime”.
