Ray White Takanini and Karaka help support vulnerable South Auckland families

Ray White Takanini and Karaka have teamed up with the Middlemore Foundation for the seventh year in a row to help support vulnerable families in South Auckland.

The offices usually support the Middlemore Foundation’s Jammies in June initiative, but this year, for the first time, they will also support the charity’s COVID-19 appeal.

The COVID-19 appeal involves donating care packs containing items such as masks, hand sanitiser, toiletries, nappies, blankets, and other hygiene products.

Ray White Takanini and Karaka sales and relationship manager Katie Rawson-Massey said the team would be donating a care pack for every virtual valuation, listing, sold property, and new property management during alert level 4 and alert level 3 from August 2021.

“In response to COVID-19, we are sending care packs to help Middlemore Foundation respond and distribute essential items to the critical needs of vulnerable families in South Auckland,” Ms Rawson-Massey said.

“Thousands of children and whanau will be without basic necessities and this need escalates daily.

“The Middlemore Foundation works closely with community organisations and local marae to distribute care packs to families in need.

“All donations go straight towards changing lives and helping the community to thrive.”

Middlemore Foundation acting CEO Faye Langdon said the organisation had already distributed 750 care packs, and hoped to distribute another 750 in the coming week.

“The need for these care packs continues to increase while we are in alert level 3,” Ms Langdon said.

“It takes a village to raise a child and Middlemore Foundation has awesome donors and partners who enable us to support South Auckland vulnerable families.

“Middlemore Foundation cannot do our work without  the contribution and stellar support  from business partners.

“Ray White Takanini and Karaka have been a long term partner and donor that  invests in the kaupapa of Middlemore Foundation and generously gives back to the South Auckland community that they work and live in.

“Big arohanui to the Ray White Takanini and Karaka teams.”

Committed to supporting the causes that affect the communities around them, Ms Rawson-Massey said the team felt it was Ray White Takanini and Karaka’s responsibility to work together to make a positive difference in their South Auckland community.

“The Middlemore Foundation aligns with our family values and provides important and life-changing initiatives to help those in need in the South Auckland community with targeted health, homes and education initiatives,” she said.

“We want to help families reach their full potential.

“The Middlemore Foundation understands and responds to the critical needs of vulnerable families in South Auckland.

“Supporting charities provides a sense of belonging for our team and it is a rewarding way to be involved in our community.”
